The "Almost" Beginning
2019Through mutual friends we crossed paths and bonded over summer hangouts and drinking games. Spoiler alert: Elodie wasn't winning, but somehow left a lasting impression on Frederico. The timing wasn't right yet, but something had started.
Love in Lockdown
2020As the world paused, our story began. Through Netflix watch parties, endless late-night conversations and countless video calls, lockdown unexpectedly drew us together. When Elodie finally returned to Mauritius that July, we chose to make things official (face-to-face at last).
The "Real" Stuff
2021Our debut year as a couple! Twelve months of uncovering each other's little oddities (and surprisingly enjoying them—or learning to find middle ground). We navigated the parental introductions successfully and knew we'd found something truly remarkable.
Fate vs. The Long Distance
2022Frederico departed for his UK Bar studies, creating potentially challenging distance between us. But destiny intervened! Elodie secured a Luxembourg secondment for six months, keeping us within easy flight reach. Geography couldn't defeat us.
Finding Our Rhythm
2023Nothing dramatic happened—just beautifully normal life. We found our rhythm, perfected our partnership skills, and confirmed we couldn't imagine navigating existence with anyone else.
The Big Question
2024December brought us to sunny Durban, South Africa for an unforgettable ending. Beneath the summer sunshine, Frederico asked the ultimate question, and Elodie enthusiastically agreed!
Concrete & Cake
2025Twelve months dominated by spreadsheets and blueprint discussions. Our time split between wedding invitation lists and home decoration choices for our shared future. Planning our permanent happiness kept us constantly busy.
The "I Do"
2026The waiting period has officially ended! We're absolutely prepared to transition from organizing to enjoying ourselves. Welcome to our most important year yet!
